Thanks so much for sending me a comment. I am very pleased that you have taken the initiative to bring this network to fruition. We need to get some coverage in the local newpapers. I plan to post information on this network on Facebook and Twitter.
This site is great, Steve. We just brought Mother from the nursing home Thursday to live with us. I'm not sure if she'll be able to return to High Shoals. She's made good progress in rehab and is able to walk with a walker. I showed her most of the dvd this afternoon and she enjoyed it.
Thanks Steve for getting this website up and going, my buddy Eddie Schronce that I grew up with in High Shoals turned me on to it and I have loved every minute of it, the old pictures are my favorite.
I very much enjoyed talking with you too. This is a fabulous web site. I love this little town and would love to see it be what it used to be. Thanks once again. :-)
Hey Mr. Bailey. Just wanted to say thanks for all your help. The video you made is more then I could have ever ask for. Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you but my job and the early hours get in the way some times. I really enjoyed meeting you and your wife. You guys are so nice. I told Maw Maw Toney (AKA Betty Jo) lol about all the stuff you had at your shop and she would like to come with me next time. Maybe if you have time Wednesday we could get together. Also thanks for the donation of the CD's going to sell them at meeting and tell every one about this wonderful web site you have created. Thanks again. Hope to see you tonight :-)!!!!!
Steve, Dale Punch e-mailed the link and it let me , when I tryed before I could not get in. I was going to call you but I kept forgetting. I really like what you have done. Some of those pictures are in my mind ( the old pictures). "Libby" Karen Elizabeth Icard Reel.

You and Steve Bailey were in a fight and when Steve finally started to get the upper hand, I had to punch out your older brother to keep him from pulling him off of you!! Your mother came and yelled at my mother, telling her to keep me away from your brother. She called me an ugly name, but I know it was just because she was angry!! If you haven't guessed, I'm Steve's sister! Donnie"

This is a great site. Brings back a lot of memories. Growing up in High Shoals during the 50's was really the best time and place a child could ask for. I will be spending a lot of time catching up with the photos. Glad to be a member.
I noticed nobody has ever uploaded a video so I thought I would be the first to do it, I was wanting to upload a home video from my personal files which was formated in Quicktime but it had to have the embed code to upload so I was lost, so I went to a website called "streetfire.net" where I have uploaded my videos before and there I could copy the embed code and paste it on the High Shoals website to upload the video and it worked fine. So do you have any advise on how to upload videos without the embed code just like we do with the photos or could the website be set up to accept videos the same as the photos, I feel like they would be a lot more videos posted if they were easier to upload.
