I am adding this to events because one of High Shoals founding fathers, John Fulenwider, fought in this battle of the Revolutionary War.
The Lincoln County Historic Properties Commission and the Lincoln County Historical Association will host the Battle of Ramsour's Mill Reenactment and Celebration at the Ramsour's Mill Revolutionary War site on Saturday, June 19 and Sunday, June 20, 2010. The event is funded by Lincoln County and the City of Lincolnton. This is our second year hosting the event, and we have an incredible lineup of reenactors and living history demonstrators slated to participate in this year's event. The Catawba Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will hold their wreath laying ceremony at the Mass Grave site, and Howard Burnham will be delivering a theatrical portrayal of Lord Cornwallis during his southern campaign during the American Revolution. We will keep everyone abreast of new demonstrators that we add to the event's schedule.
