Even though we know of no petroglyphs (image in rock), pictrographs (paintings on rock) or mud glyphs (drawing in mud) there were many Indians in this area. The mud glyphs were found in a known cave by the east Tenn. caving group in a cave in east Tenn. near Maryville in the 1980s (over 900 drawings over 900 years old) which were finger drawings in the mud cave walls.
