The Town Crier October 1957
HALLOW'EEN
CARNIVAL A BIG
SUCCESS
Witches, goblins, and various other spooks turned out in bountiful numbers for the
annual Hallow'een Carnival held on Friday night, October 25 at the High Shoals School.
During the evening hot dogs, peanuts, pop corn and cold drinks were sold in the
lunch room.
Booths which had been set up for fishing, bingo, dart throwing, and others provided entertainment throughout the evening for all ages.
As usual, the highlight of the evening's festivities came with the crowning of the King and Queen, a contest participated in by all pupils of the school. This year's winners
were Henry Robinson, King and Harriet Robinson, Queen.
A door prize of a lamp was won by Judy Lail.
All in all, everyone seemed to have a wonderful time and the Carnival was a big
success. The P.T.A. was able to realize a profit of over $500.00 from the
Carnival and the chicken supper which was held several weeks earilier.
