High Shoals, NC Now and Then
From the "Town Crier" April 27, 1951
quote from the paper: "At some time or other practically everyone in High Shoals has stopped by the U.S. Postoffice and been greeted by the cherry smile of none other than the lovely Postmaster, Mrs. Earl Payseur, better known to the majority of us as Anne Lee.
She has served High Shoals as Postmaster for the past eleven years. Prior to becoming Postmaster, she served as Assistant Postmaster for four and one half years.
Anne Lee is a long time resident of High Shoals and is a graduate of Dallas High School.
Her assistant is Mrs. Woodrow Carpenter".
